Live Irish music from musicians from the community, including former members of the Elderberries and the band Alatriel. Even if you don't know how to dance, you can join in a dance lesson, bring a potluck dish and enjoy the social scene, and listen to a knowledgeable speaker on issues facing the Standing Rock and DAPL protestors' legal fight. Or consider buying a ticket as your donation to this important cause.
Let's come together as a community to support policies and movements for clean water and human rights. Please share this ticket link and help spread the word to the community! The protest camps have been evacuated and the battle is now in the courts where legal motions to stop the DAPL are being heard. If a minimum of $1,000 is raised, all proceeds will go to Earthjustice, the legal group representing Standing Rock in current court battles, earmarked for Standing Rock legal defense. Otherwise all proceeds will go to the Sioux Tribe of Standing Rock to be used as they deem best for their legal defense expenses. Watch our music video with a sample of Irish music. Playing along is our custodian Richard Sandling on the drum, and our Board President Doug Chambers on the bones. https://youtu.be/G86SaTZEJIk
Schedule: 6 PM (potluck/speaker); 7 PM (dance lesson); 8 - 10 PM (dance with live music); 10 PM - 11 PM (acoustic hour)
Tickets at: http://bfuu4standingrock.brownpapertickets.com
Sponsored by the BFUU Social Justice Ctee
Suggested donation $10-$50 sliding scale
Wheelchair accessible.
