The Political Affairs Discussion group usually gathers the first Saturday of each month, noon to 2:00 p.m.
Please join The Communist Party USA (Oakland/Berkeley) for its reading and open discussion of
• POLITICAL REPRESSION AND FASCISM
• THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO
• OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO FIGHT BOTH
The Presidency of Donald J. Trump has brought with it a wave of roundups of migrant workers, racist and bigoted physical attacks upon Muslims and Jews, as well as threatened cutbacks in public education, housing, healthcare, and care of our environment - the ecology.
But already, early on in response to this repression, there has been resistance: the Women's March - the largest public demonstration in US history; Congressional visitations and town halls during their recess week; the blockage of airport harassment of people of Islamic heritage; the Day Without Immigrants, and upcoming events.
We the people are not taking these attacks without resistance. This session of the POLITICAL AFFAIRS discussion will discuss the present relentless onslaughts against us all.
Further, we will discuss the differences between what we are now experiencing and fascism, and what we have to do in the fight against repression in order to ward off and defeat fascism.
Come join us.
