Granite Construction is one of the top three bidders to build Trump's border wall. This is a slap in the face of Watsonville. We are an immigrant community and Sanctuary City and as such demand respect! DEMAND GRANITE CONSTRUCTION RESCIND THEIR BID OR FACE A BOYCOTT CAMPAIGN AGAINST THEM!

§Boycott Companies that want to Build Trump’s Wall

I was horrified to learn that a company based out of Watsonville- Granite Construction, put in a preliminary bid to build Trump’s divisive (literally) border wall. The City of Berkeley has responded by passing codes that prohibit their City / County from doing business with companies that bid on the wall. San Francisco and Oakland are currently considering doing the same.

I think Santa Cruz should as well. While I am OK with Granite making money off mundane things I don’t agree with, like highway widening. This is a whole other level of collusion. Trump’s wall represents a new level in racist fear-mongering. If Granite wants to support that, I don’t think the County and Cities in Santa Cruz County should do business with Granite.

Please contact your City Councilmembers- citycouncil [at] cityofsantacruz.com. Ask them to ban Granite and other companies that are bidding on the wall. Also, contact your local supervisor. For many of you that is Ryan Coonerty- ryan.coonerty [at] santacruzcounty.us or John Leopold- johnleopold [at] santacruzcounty.us.
