Get Up Stand Up SF Indivisible is organizing a demonstration in support of affordable health care for all, and in opposition to Trumpcare.

We will gather at the Federal Building in downtown San Francisco, where the Health and Human Services Department has offices. The demonstration will feature creative dramatizations of the potential effects of this bill.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has estimated that the Republican plan to “repeal and replace” the Affordable Health Care Act will:

Reduce the number of Americans with health care by 24 million by 2020
Give away almost $1 trillion in tax cuts to the wealthy!
Raise a typical Trump voter’s premiums by some $13,000
Impose severe cuts to Medicaid, which serves low income people, the disabled, and veterans
Based on CBO’s analysis, ThinkProgress estimates that “Approximately 17,000 people could die in 2018 who otherwise would have lived. By 2026, the number of people killed by Trumpcare could grow to approximately 29,000 in that year alone.”

So much for Trump’s promises:

“We don't want anyone who currently has insurance to not have insurance.”
“Nobody will be worse off financially.”
“Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.”
“I'm not going to cut Medicare or Medicaid.”
“We are going to have health care, but I will not allow people to die on the sidewalks and the streets of our country if I'm president.”

Well, we’ll see you on the streets Mr. President!
