Interfaith communities are calling for divestment from the Dakota Access Pipeline and standing in solidarity with Native people. Rally followed by a procession to honor local Native sites and demand that financial institutions divest from projects that desecrate sacred sites. Following the march, the church will host a 6:45 pm screening of the film Beyond Recognition (28 mins.) and a community conversation with Corrina Gould and Johnella La Rose, co-founders of the Sogorea Te Land Trust and Indian People Organizing for Change (IPOC). This gathering is co-sponsored by the First Congregational Church of Oakland, the Oakland Peace Center, and the Faith Alliance for a Moral Economy as part of Bay Resistance's ongoing #ResistTrumpTuesday campaign.
