After the deluge of Republican electoral dominance, achieved through Republicans hanging together despite nominal disgust with Trump's breezy discounting of convention, it is imperative that the Left maintain unity and not disperse into mild birdseed shot (rather than, at least, buck shot).
The Commons SF proposes to discover a unifying question, a topic articulated as a question, which can pull and pull again the strands of Left politics back into solidarity.
Come along on a walking tour of San Francisco social movement history that itself puts forward an issue and unifying question. It's all about real estate, the walk suggests, and this trek around downtown reviewing the Mormon hegira, the Black Panthers, the Counter-culture 60s, the Occupy Movement, and more, posits that the struggle for secure geography is a theme in all social uprisings.
Attendees are welcome to join the host afterward for a complimentary lunch at our fave Thai restaurant, when they may submit their own "unifying question."
