Independent Living Challenges for Adults with Autism: Assessment & Diagnosis, Treatment, Government Benefits (State Developmental Disability Programs/SSI) and Employment Supports.
Description: This seminar will address issues related to navigating adulthood as an individual on the Autism Spectrum. Seminar will cover:
Background and scope of challenges
Assessment and diagnosis of adults with ASD
Treatments available for adults with ASD
Qualifying for California Regional Center Benefits as an adult
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Improving access and integration for individuals with ASD
Audience: The general public; people with disabilities, families, and friends; legal community; health and social service providers.
