Directly Impacted Community Members Call For Unified Resistance to Trump’s Dangerous Agenda
WHAT: March and Rally Against Trump
WHEN: Saturday, November 19th at noon
WHERE: Riverpark on the corner of Blackstone and Nees
WHO: Fresno Immigrant Youth in Action
(Fresno, CA)- Since the election of Donald J. Trump last Tuesday, thousands of people have taken to the streets to protest the devastating policy proposals of his administration, which include:
* Immediate deportation of millions of undocumented immigrants and the construction of a border wall
* Expansion of mass incarceration and the police state through racist policies like stop and frisk
* Blatant Islamophobia and a ban on Muslims entering the country
* Dismantling of the Affordable Care Act and curtailing of reproductive health access
* Tax breaks for the rich that will lead to greater income inequality
* Denial of climate change and support for continued burning of fossil fuels, the Keystone XL pipeline and the Dakota Access Pipeline
* Has white supremacist, anti-LGBTQ, anti-worker and anti-science members in transition team and considering several for appointments
We know that people of color, immigrants, Muslims, women and LGBTQ folks will be negatively impacted by a Trump presidency. We are committed to vigorously opposing any effort to target members of our community and we call on everyone to join us in organizing an effective and unified resistance. The only way that we can defeat Trump is by joining forces and acknowledging that none of us are free until all of us are free.
We will not wait until January 20th. We will not sit back and hope for the best. We will do everything that must be done to defend our community because our lives are at stake. We will never allow white supremacy, imperialism, racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, transphobia, homophobia, misogyny or any other form of hatred and bigotry to go unchallenged.
