The specter of evictions is haunting San Francisco! Housing affordability is at a crisis point, and houseless residents are being bashed. Holly Park Collective, #AntiEvictionQueers, Housing Rights Committee of San Francisco, and the Harvey Milk LGBTQ Club will lead a Halloween-themed march around the Castro to exorcise the ghoulish spirits of greed, evictions, and homelessness. We will have speakers from housing rights organizations open the march and then we will perform an “exorcism of greed” as participants bless the cleansing with “fairy dust” at each stop during the march. The Brass Liberation Orchestra will provide music and entertainment. Visuals include tombstone signs, ghosts on poles, masks, and with marchers dressed as leechy landlords, poltergeist politicians, rabid realtors, and spooky speculators.
