Representatives of seven social movements from Mexico are visiting the Bay Area as part of a national tour, to denounce repression in Mexico and promote solidarity. Caravan participants and speakers include parents of the 43 Ayotzinapa students forcibly disappeared two years ago; representatives of National Coordination of Education Workers (CNTE); San Quintin farm workers; May Our Daughters Return Home from Ciudad Juarez; victims of the June 2016 government attack that killed seven people in Nochixtlan, Oaxaca; and Xochicuautla, an Otomi indigenous community fighting mega-projects and land grabbing.
Noon Rally and March - Meeting Point at 24th and Mission, walk on Mission to 16th,
Then to Buena Vista Elementary School, 3351 23rd Street, San Francisco
2pm - 5pm - Community Forum addressing struggles for labor rights, territory, women's rights and against state repression, with Caravan participants and speakers from Anti Police Terror Project, United Educators of San Francisco, Mujeres Unidas y Activas, and the Humanitarian Space in Buenaventura, Colombia.
