The agenda item is to 'consider an ordinance on community control of surveillance equipment'.

Members of the public may speak during the public comment sections at the beginning of the meeting and at the very end of the meeting. Members of the public are not required to identify themselves, and may remain #Anonymous if so desired. The meeting is open to anyone, not just Berkeley residents. The public may also bring documentation to supplement public comment such as news clippings, essays, written testimony, photographs, etc.

Developers of surveillance technology Urban Shield were displaying their wares at the Urban Shield events at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, including: camera systems, drones, cellphone tower simulators, and software for gathering social-networking data.
