Come show some of those in charge of the health care for people incarcerated in our local jails that they are being watched and must be accountable!
California Forensic Medical Group is the for-profit company that the county of Santa Cruz contracted with to provide healthcare for our jails. Several people have died since their takeover in 2012 and the jail health care has been unacceptable; though many changes have been made to this new contract effective oversight is still a major issue and leaves out the voices of those most affected. Their contract is now up for renewal for another 4 years and is an opportunity for the community to show that we are paying attention.
People will be allowed to make public comment on the record for about 2-3 minutes each so prepare something if you wish to- there is no obligation to speak!
If this doesn't work with your schedule check this out to show support in other ways!
