You've heard of the Liberty Bell?
--"That huge, cracked clapper in Philadelphia, right?"

Yeah. Do you know why it's called the Liberty Bell?
--"Uh, 'cause the American Revolution and liberty, I guess."

By association, yes. In fact, however, because cast into the bell's mold are the words 'Proclaim Liberty throughout the land.'
--"That's Thomas Paine or Jefferson, I suppose?"

Nope. That's the Hebrew prophets talking about ridding the world of landlordism.
--"For real?"

Yes. Monotheism with the Hebrews originated out of a people's revolt against private ownership of the social, political, and economic value of land.
--"You saying the Old Testament hooie about divine intervention with the Jews is actually the torch song of the Hebrew working class?

Talking straight, man. If you want a short course on what social movement history anywhere and everywhere, but especially so in San Francisco is all about, come along on this free walking tour. It will illuminate every housing and wage and class issue burning in the Bay Region today. Deep stories about Glide Memorial, the Black Panthers, the Mormons, LGBT, Occupy!, and the 450 Sutter.
--"Cool. Anything about Trump, or any songs from Hamilton?"

Come find out.
