Help Us Start a New Public Radio Station!
Dear current and former Public Press colleagues, supporters and audiophiles,
It occurred to us that not all of you are on our newsletter so you may not have seen the announcement of the event tomorrow night. You’re all welcome to join us, and sorry if this is short notice!
***
You’re invited to a meeting next Thursday to help us brainstorm the start of a new low-power public radio station. Please forward to whoever you think would be interested.
Public Press Annual Meeting & Radio Planning Workshop
Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, 7 to 9 p.m.
44 Page Street, 2nd floor
The Public Press was awarded by the Federal Communications Commission a permit to construct a low-power FM radio station in San Francisco, sharing time on 102.5-FM with San Francisco Community Radio.
Radio is new territory for us, and we want to hear from the community: What do YOU want to hear on the airwaves? We aim to offer public-service broadcasting, including news, public-affairs talk shows, community events and experimental forms of storytelling with an emphasis on local programming.
RSVP: Here on Facebook or email radio [at] sfpublicpress [dot] org
SF Public Press (sfpublicpress.org) publishes quarterly and has earned several awards for its reportage. The newspaper is all news/features -- no advertising. SFPP is non-profit, funded entirely through grants and memberships.
