The Labor Movement Today
In honor of Labor Day, we will explore some labor struggles which are transforming our world. Confirmed speakers include: Steve Early, author of a new book on Richmond: Refinery Town: Big Oil, Big Money, and the Reclaiming of an American City, (forthcoming Jan 2017), speaking for Labor for Bernie; Roger Wilkins and Vince Edwards, Teamsters Local 315, speaking on Teamsters at the Crossroads; and Alborz Ghandehari, UAW Local 2865, representing UC graduate student workers, speaking of the union’s involvement in the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) campaign.
