Recreating the commons in a new form is often a goal projected by non-statist Marxists and anarchists, like those who participated in Occupy Oakland and are now squatting in abandoned properties in the name of bringing back the "commons" (see "Bring Back the Commons" in Slingshot, Summer 2016).

An anarchist friend briefly highlighted that he was not only against what is. To further clarify what he is for he cited the 17th century Digger, Gerrard Winstanley, who, at the dawn of capitalism fought for egalitarian communal life, calling for abolishing private property in thoughts, words, and deeds. The 19th century anti-capitalist revolutionary philosopher Karl Marx certainly shared this very sentiment.

Come join a dialog between an anarchist and a Marxist-Humanist on how these two perspectives intersect.
