Date:
Thursday, July 07, 2016
Time:
7:00 PM
-
1:00 AM
Event Type:
Fundraiser
Organizer/Author:
Bernadette Bohan
Location Details:
DaDa SF, 86 2nd St, San Francisco CA 94105 (2 and a half blocks from Montgomery St BART Station)
A booming art show and performance event is slated to take over DaDa SF on 7/7 at 7!
This fundraiser is hosted by Bernadette Bohan, long-time San Francisco juggernaut, musician, artist, and owner of Mission art space the Box Factory. Bernadette was crowned Miss Royal Bunny at the Grand Ducal Court (San Francisco's campiest and best fundraising arm), and donations from the event will go towards their fund that donates to important community orgs, including LYRIC, the Stop AIDS Project, and Project Open Hand.
The event will be straight out of old San Francisco, with DJs, drag queens, pop art, and other spirited performances. The crowd will be a mixture of rock musicians, artists, long-timers, new-comers, and members of the Grand Ducal Court.
Artwork by Bernadette will be shown: an explosion of colorful landscapes made entirely out of toys bought at thrift stores and covers themes of consumerism, environmental waste, and gender expression. It is reminiscent of both Pop Art and the Dadaist movements--- the perfect complement to the funky interior of DaDa art bar!
