Take action and spread the word!
Wed May 25th at 7:00 PM
The PVUSD Board of Trustees will vote on whether or not to take a stand on working to limit use of hazardous pesticides near schools. We need the Trustees to see this issue matters to the community.
Please turn out and support Resolution A!
How are pesticides linked to climate change?
Pesticide use requires more water. Climate change is contributing to drought in California.
Organic gardening is restorative. Soil can be managed to sink carbon. Pesticides kill plants and animals and harm people (immediately, over time, and through harm to reproductive systems). They deplete soil, lead to runoff which contaminates water supplies, etc.
The main reason to use pesticides is to try to make a bigger financial profit in the short term. This is the same thinking that keeps fossil fuel companies seeking out more oil coal, and natural gas, while knowing full well if we extract and burn the fossil fuel reserves already identified we will destroy the living environment of the earth.
