The Coastal Watershed Council welcomes you to join the 17th Annual Snapshot Day monitoring event May 7th, 2016!
Snapshot Day is the largest water quality monitoring event of its kind in the Central Coast. During the event, hundreds of volunteers work as citizen scientists collecting water quality data from rivers and streams in Santa Cruz, San Mateo, Monterey and San Luis Obispo Counties.
You can join CWC in representing Santa Cruz County by signing up to be a water quality monitoring volunteer: http://coastal-watershed.org/how-can-i-help/volunteer/
As a volunteer you will gain experience and skills in water quality monitoring stream by learning survey methods, sample collection and water quality parameter testing. Furthermore, you will get a chance to spend the day along some of Santa Cruz’s rivers and streams, having fun with fellow volunteers and competing for prizes.
Volunteer training will be on April 30th at the Santa Cruz Harbor Community Room from 11 to 1 PM. For more information on Snapshot Day, contact CWC’s River Scientist Alev at abilginsoy [at] coastal-watershed.org or (831) 464-9200.
