A former World War II “Comfort Woman” who was forced into sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army, Grandma Yong Soo Lee, will be speaking about her experience in the war and her activism since then for women’s rights and calling for an apology from Japan.
This event is hosted by Veterans for Peace, Chapter 69, San Francisco, and endorsed by the “Comfort Women” Justice Coalition. This event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted but not required.
This event will be held at the Veterans War Memorial Building, Room #206, on the second floor. The Veterans War Memorial Building is at 401 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA 94102, on the corner of Van Ness Avenue and McAllister Street. This building is located near Civic Center BART station. Go in the front entrance of Van Ness Avenue, take the elevator to the second floor, turn right coming out of the elevator, and proceed to room 206.
