Downtown Restrooms: Maybe it's time to invest in something more substantial
With a recent severe drop off of downtown public restrooms, instances of open excrement are increasing.
It should be known that instances of open excrement are increasing again on the backside
of businesses abutting the San Lorenzo River, along Front St.
You may know that the (formerly)24hour Bathroom in the Soquel St. garage has started
closing at 10pm again. There has been no notice to the public about this change.
The city's Public Restroom program has lost 2/3 of it's partners,
leaving only Bookshop Santa Cruz. Both Pizza My Heart and Cafe Gratitude have dropped out.
It's important to note that the porta potty at Soquel & Broadway St. has been replaced
5 times within the last year.
Maybe it's time to invest in something more substantial and long-lasting.

where would it go?
Hey: those port-a-potties do not comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
