Richard A. Walker, professor emeritus of geography at the University of California, Berkeley, will present The Atlas of California: Mapping the Challenge of a New Era, a book he co-authored. According to Walker, California has plenty of water; the problem is that it is badly misallocated and, as a result, demand regularly exceeds supply. He is author of many books, including The Conquest of Bread and The Country in the City. Walker spoke for the Marxist School in April, 2003.
