BREAK THE SILENCE: NO MORE WAR ON SYRIA AND BEYOND
STOP THE AIR STRIKES AND TARGETED KILLINGS NOW
With the escalation of deadly air attacks in Syria by US/NATO and allies – with the hue and cry being whipped up against refugees and immigrants, and under the crescendo of calls from the forces of repression for more such repression – another voice needs to be heard. Come to a rally/speak-out/press conference to raise this much-needed voice.
This action is jointly initiated by World Can’t Wait, CODEPINK and OccupySF Action Council.
We’re at a moment when it is not sufficient to identify with the people of France and denounce that violence of last Friday (which we must do of course). All people of conscience must also see that the lives of people across the Middle East living and dying under the rain of bombs are equally important with the lives of ourselves in the U.S., France, and anywhere else in the West.
The drums beating for more war are very loud. And there is a crying need for there to be a strong counter to this – we hope, comprised of many voices! – representing people in the U.S. who refuse to let the cruel and horrible Paris events be a justification for supporting further aggressions by the U.S. and its allies whether that be more drones, more invasions, more bombing strikes purportedly aimed at “bad guys” but which consistently and continually create a mounting civilian death toll.
Outside City Hall this Friday we will assemble, representing different groups distinguished by many political differences -- but we will unite to say we all refuse the dangerous agenda of heightened war and military aggression, and the attendant escalations in repression that do accompany these moves.
JOIN US this Friday to call for an immediate end to U.S./NATO airstrikes and targeted killings. Retaliation for the devastating events in Paris that left 129 dead is the worst possible response to the reactionary Islamist movement dominating parts of the Middle East. And will add more refugees to the millions desperately trying to survive endless wars for empire. We call for an immediate end to U.S./NATO airstrikes and targeted killings.
