It is with great sadness and fond memories that we are focusing our vigil on Wednesday, November 4th to Michael Clift, known in activist circles as “Pirate Mike”.
Pirate died last Friday after being struck by a vehicle Thursday evening west of Groom, Texas.
Clift was on his “Odyssey for Peace” to bring attention to how “American citizens have shamefully and quietly passed by thousands of homeless and needy veterans living on the streets of our small towns, the steam grates of our teeming cities, and in the canyons and wilds of suburbia from Washington, D.C. to the shores of California.”
Please join our homage to Pirate Mike. Bring your memories, memorabilia, photos, flowers, candles, VFP Flags or just come and celebrate the life of a great activist.
Join us in honoring Mike and continuing his efforts to QUESTION AUTHORITY.
