Please join us at this community event to honor this year's peace and justice award winners!

"Community Organization of the Year Award" goes to Richmond Progressive Alliance. Keynote speaker for the evening will be Gayle McLaughlin (Former Richmond Mayor) accepting the award for Richmond Progressive Alliance.

This award is being given to honor RPA's courage, foresight and success in mobilizing the public to overcome the status quo control of the City, educating the community about the consequences of sugar soda, building community parks and bike paths, defeating plans for a casino and successfully mobilizing support for the enactment of rent control.

"Peace Advocate of the Year Award" goes to Andrew Lichterman, Senior Research Analyst, Western States Legal Foundation. Lichterman has been on the staff of WSLF (the Oakland-based anti-nuclear organization) since 1983.  He is the principal author of hundreds of briefing papers and information bulletins and regularly speaks as an authority at international conferences. Lichterman has researched, written and campaigned for the enforcement of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the exposure of US violations and the need for greater awareness of the huge dangers of unchecked nuclear threats and continued development. As a lawyer, Lichterman has represented peace and environmental activists in a variety of settings.

This is the social event of the year for the 45 year-old Center. It includes a full-course dinner, drink, live music, a raffle, student art and a silent auction with theater tickets, restaurants, family outings, jewelry and more! We're accepting donations as well!
