The African People’s Education & Defense Fund is sponsoring this event and is also launching African community economic development institutions such as Uhuru Jiko Community Kitchen. Uhuru Jiko in Oakland will be home to a workforce development project providing employment and training – including those in the African community who have experienced incarceration which drastically limits opportunities to contribute to their families and communities.
