The Cause of the Refugee Crisis & the Fight vs. Racism

Friday, Sept. 18, 7pm
2969 Mission St., SF

Hundreds of thousands of people from war-torn and impoverished countries in the Middle East and Africa have risked their lives at sea to reach Europe. What is the real cause of the refugee crisis and the responsibility of the U.S. government and its European allies? While some governments and fascist organizations have attacked the refugees, major solidarity rallies have been held and welcome committees set up in many cities.

The Myth of a Moral Capitalism

Has capitalism lost its” moral values” in recent decades? Did it ever have them? Did presidents like Nixon, Reagan and Bush make the system diverge from what the “founding fathers” envisioned? Is the Republican Party alone responsible for the shrinking of the “middle class?” Hear a talk by author and activist Richard Becker on how historical developments have led to the huge increase in inequality.

Join us for analysis and discussion.

2969 Calle Mission, San Francisco
