"...Peter has lived a life most of us could only dream of."- Bonnie Raitt

In his energetic, funny, and exceptionally intelligent memoir, The Rainman's Third Cure, Peter Coyote relives his fifteen-year ride through the heart of the counterculture-a journey that took him from the quiet rooms of privilege as the son of an East Coast stockbroker to Greenwich Village to the riotous life of political street theater and the self-imposed poverty of the West Coast communal movement known as The Diggers. With this innovative collective of artist-anarchists who cared for the homeless and hungry through Digger kitchens in the Haight-Ashbury and gardens in Marin, Coyote was drawn away from the noise and turmoil of the 60's counterculture into the studious quiet of Zen Buddhism, and a deep, lasting friendship with Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Gary Snyder.

"There are often people in your life that just fit perfectly and you love without question. Peter is one of those people. His talent and worldliness have always been evident, the kindness and calm he exudes are finally explained in this book." -Samuel L. Jackson, actor and producer

Peter Coyote is an ordained practitioner of Zen Buddhism and a politically engaged actor. He began his work in street theater and political organizing in San Francisco. In addition to acting in over 140 films, working with directors such as Martin Ritt, Steven Spielberg, and Roman Polanski, he has won an Emmy for narrating the award-winning documentary Pacific Century.

Hosted by Gaetano Kazuo Maida, a media professional currently serving as executive director of Buddhist Film Foundation. He was a founding director of the magazine Tricycle, His films as director and/or producer include Peace Is Every Step, The Simple Life, Touching Peace, Milarepa, Rock Soup and On the Luce.
