Organizer, former political prisoner, a human rights activist, former labor union organizer, machinist, and professor (most recently at SFSU). Steve is also a writer and has published 8 books, his latest being “The Need to Abolish the Prison System: An Ethical Indictment.” Steve has written extensively about structures of white supremacy, the prisons industrial system, constructs of racism, political prisoners, solitary confinement, police brutality as well as other topics.
