Location Details:
Davenport Main Beach, 1 Davenport Avenue, Davenport

Our new Xstream cleanups are targeting areas with intense trash and sites that can be challenging at remote locations including caves, beaches, rivers and inland dump sites.

Volunteers will clean Davenport Main Beach from 9am until 11am.

Volunteers should wear sturdy footwear with hiking boots or similar recommended as the beach is only accessible via a rocky slope (not too steep). It is also good if volunteers can wear old clothes as you might get dirty and bring their own, preferably thick gloves.

Make sure you bring a filled reusable water bottle, sunglasses and a hat as well. We want to make sure everyone is staying hydrated! Any participants under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult.

Cleanups happen RAIN OR SHINE! It is especially important to clean the beaches in the rainy weather, as all that trash is quickly getting washed into the Sanctuary! We are taking the XStream theme all the way, braving the rain to keep our beaches clean.

Check-in will be located in the parking lot directly across Highway 1 from the Davenport Bakery Bar and Grill or else, go down to the beach over the railroad tracks and look for our volunteers with buckets and other supplies. No bathrooms or drinking fountains are available. To help you find the beach you might look for mile marker 28.05 on Highway 1 and remember that the beach is 9 miles north of Western Drive in Santa Cruz heading north on Highway 1.

If you have any questions please contact cleanup [at] saveourshores.org.

Thank you for keeping our beaches clean and beautiful!
