On the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima actions took place around the world and in the East Bay at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where nuclear weapons are designed.

On the 70th anniversary of the US bombing of Hiroshima, hundreds of people went to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where nuclear weapons are designed and workers and communities are becoming contaminated by cancers. The rally took place on August 6, 2015.
Speakers include US military whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, Chizu Hamada of the No Nukes Action Committee. Also interviewed was Scott Yundt, staff attorney of the Tri-Valley CARE, a representative of the Doro-Chiba International Solidarity Committee, Sam Kanno of the No Nukes Action Committee.
There is a growing cancer illnesses at the laboratory among workers and people in the community. Also reports were made on the growing militarization of Japan and the role of the US in pushing Japan to militarize and build new bases in Okinawa.
