KPFA radio, the only radio station in the Bay Area that is not funded by corporations, will be having an election starting on August 29th to choose its delegates to its governing Local Station Board.
The station is at a critical juncture as it tries to maintain its listener base and financial viability. In this era of corporate media and the two corporate Parties, it’s crucial to keep our one non-corporate network on our public airwaves.
The Green Party invites everyone to an open forum to discuss and debate the issues facing KPFA. Andrea Prichett, Carol Wolfley, and Cynthia Johnson will make opening statements, to get the discussion going.
Andrea Prichett -- is a member of KPFA's Local Station Board and is a Berkeley Copwatch co-founder and activist.
Carol Wolfley -- is a member of KPFA's Community Advisory Board and an activist with the Berkeley Post Office Defenders.
Cynthia Johnson -- is a member of KPFA's Local Station Board and is a longtime activist with the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, and other groups.
