Sam Farr Is Waffling On HR 1599, The DARK Act
Rep. Sam Farr is waffling on his DARK vote. Rep. Farr is traditionally a supporter of laws that support consumer rights but needs you to remind him this is one of those issues and you want him to stand strong. Tell Farr to vote NO on HR 1599.
Vote NO on HR 1599
I just got word from the Just Label It folks in DC that your Rep. Sam Farr is waffling on his DARK vote. Rep. Farr is traditionally a supporter of laws that support consumer rights but needs you to remind him this is one of those issues and you want him to stand strong.
Please call and fax him at
Phone: (202) 225-2861
Fax: (202) 225-6791
Let him- know HR 1599 will-
1- Negate your local law that protects organic farmers from GMO contamination. That's right, HR 1599 takes away local jurisidiction of GMO seed control and puts it in the hands of the feds. Our local sovereignty is being attacked. His NO vote on this will protect your rights to local rule.
2- Pre-emp state GMO labeling laws, will not allow any other NonGMO label aside from a newly conceived USDA law that probably won't test for contamination.
3- Allow GMOs to be labeled natural
4- Only allows for voluntary labeling and will cripple the FDA's ability to require mandatory labeling.
The vote is this week! We need to ensure that we get as many yes votes as we can. Sam Farr's vote is crucial in this vote. Please call him numerous times during the week and get your friends and other constituents to call.
