Amah Mutsun Tribal Band Prayer Ceremony Opposing the Canonization of Junipero Serra
The AMTB will host a ceremony to pray that Pope Francis reverses his decision to canonize Fr. Junipero Serra.
This ceremony will be held on the California State Parks "grass quad" in front of the church at San Juan Bautista Mission.
This event will present speakers who will TELL THE TRUTH regarding Junipero Serra, the brutality of the mission system and the mission's legacy of historic trauma that continues today.
Mutsun & Miwok dancers will offer ceremony to Creator so that our prayers and voice are heard.
This is a drug and alcohol free event. We ask that no gold be worn, wedding rings excepted.
Special note: Please bring lawn chairs, sun screen & water; it may get hot!
