This 1971 classic film featuring the beloved Mexican comedian Cantinflas, is an inspiring social commentary on a village community's struggle to education, to overcome the dictatorial rule of local landlords and their political puppets. This film is a timely theme today, in the wake of the disappearance of 43 Mexican students in Ayotzinapa, Mexico, and the universal struggle of youth and students for the right to education. There will be a brief discussion after the film to update on the struggle in Ayotzinapa.
