OPD Helicopter Announces: The Dogs Will Find You. The Dogs Will Bite You.
"This is the Oakland police department. Residents, stay inside your homes. Dogs are being released. The dogs will find you. The dogs will bite you. If they find you, do not move or attempt to run or the dogs will bite you." This warning blared from an OPD helicopter in West Oakland just after 3pm today.

To the best of my memory from what I heard myself, this is the message that was repeated for several minutes from an OPD helicopter as it circled the vicinity of West and 32nd Streets. It can also be heard somewhat in the short video here that a friend emailed to me.
Apparently, a manhunt has been ongoing since at least 2pm, when the same friend reported that OPD vehicles were racing all over the area in West Oakland, driving around herky-jerky, seemingly unsure of which way to go.
The helicopter notice of impending dog attack was insufficient. At first, I could hear the helicopter circling but not that a warning was coming from its loudspeaker. It wasn't until I stepped outside that I realized an audio announcement was being made from the helicopter, at which point I would have already been at risk of a bloody attack by an Oakland police dog. If I was hearing impaired or didn't speak English, I never would have heard or understood the warning.
