Come join a discussion of what happens when liberation theology meets process thought in the context of San Francisco's hyper-agitated real estate market. This is an on-going discussion in its second week.

Martin Luther King, jr. formulated a liberating civil disobedience based upon a theology of transformative love. Alfred North Whitehead formulated a philosophy of life based upon ever evolving relationships from the electron on up through nebular systems. We wonder if transformative love isn't a species of evolving creative relationship and further, we wonder if rising land values in the Bay Region aren't but a reflection of the emergent quality of social, economic, and political relationships.

If so, then land values are a process of society, not a manufacture of individuals, and consequently to divorce land rents from the public good is lousy philosophy, corrosive public policy, and derelict theology.

Join The Commons SF in generating a metaphysics that informs public action in constituting a just society. This is a roundtable discussion moderated by a reader and admirer of both King and Whitehead. One does not need to have read either to participate, but discussion will be moderated to stay on topic.
