INFORUM is throwing its first “Informal,” a summer celebration which brings together Bay Area intellectuals to support inspired conversations. Having hosted speakers as diverse as Sheryl Sandberg, Dan Savage and Rachel Maddow, INFORUM now invites SF’s finest citizens to support its onstage interviews by mingling and intellectualizing with a purpose. It’s a celebration, a meeting of the minds, but definitely a party.
Guests are set to enjoy music from two of the city’s most sought after DJ talents: Popstack and Slaptop (the latter is on the verge of being the next big thing with upcoming performances at the Greek Theatre and Lollapalooza). It’s going to definitely be one of those “hot” San Francisco nights, as attendees swing and sway with SF young luminaries like Facebook’s Libby Leffler and Yelp’s Nish Nadaraja, all while enjoying complimentary eats from Chambers and drinks courtesy of ONEHOPE, Lagunitas and Suerte Tequila.
It gets better: everyone in attendance will also receive a free raffle ticket for prizes that include an AirBNB coupon code for $250, and 2 VIP party experience tickets for Kim Kardashian West Live (front tier seating, a signed copy of Kim’s latest book Selfish, and a chance to meet the star herself!)
The Details:
What: A party-style fundraiser complete with complimentary food catered by Chambers, an open bar, music from 2 top DJs, and plenty of the above mingling and social intellectualizing.
Where: Chambers, located inside the iconic Phoenix Hotel, itself a San Francisco landmark opened by former Commonwealth Club guest Chip Conley.
Address: 601 Eddy Street, San Francisco, CA 94109
When: 7-11pm on Thursday, June 25th
Why: Proceeds from the event help bolster INFORUM’s work to bring conversations to the Bay Area. By hosting these onstage interviews, INFORUM has addressed issues such as diversity in tech with Kimberly Bryant and Sal Khan, reproductive rights with Cecile Richards, and racial justice with Cornel West.
Host Committee Chair Nish Nadaraja on why: “"The term 'curation' gets thrown around a lot these days. But that's really what INFORUM is all about: curating discussions and topics that matter to you. This event is a call-out to support the type of discourse and programming that keeps SF vital and purposefully diverse."
