Join us for an educational event and celebration of Eric’s recent release! This will be Eric’s first speaking engagement in Sacramento since his release. Let’s welcome him home and show him our continued support.
Panelists include:
Recently released political prisoner - Eric McDavid
Eric’s Habeas Attorney - Ben Rosenfeld
Members of SPS, including Jenny Esquivel, who is part of Eric’s legal team
In May 2008 at the Sacramento federal courthouse, Eric McDavid, a green anarchist, was sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison after being entrapped by a government informant. He was released this January – 10 years early – after settling his habeas petition. SPS will be talking about the experience we've gained through engaging in support work for Eric the last 9 1/2 years. Members of his legal team will talk about the case and the dynamic partnership between Eric’s lawyers and members of his support team that ultimately led to Eric’s release. Eric will talk about his experience of support in general from within prison and throughout the last 5 months of his early release, as well as the importance of creating those types of connections for people held in prison for their beliefs.
We will also be talking about the cases of two other anarchist prisoners: Marius Mason and Eric King.
Marius Mason was sentenced to nearly 22 years in federal prison for acts of sabotage in the name of eco defense. He is now being held in a prison within a prison in Carswell,TX. There is more info at: supportmarius.org.
Eric King has been held for nearly 9 months at a private prison in Kansas and is facing 30 years in federal prison after being accused of tossing two molotov cocktails into a senator’s office window in Kansas City, MO.

Join us to celebrate the release of former political prisoner, Eric McDavid and to express solidarity with Marius Mason and Eric King.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
We hope to see you there!
