We start every Sunday at 3PM at the colonnade at the northeast end of the lake, between Grand and Lakeshore Avenues on El Embarcadero [across the street from the Lakeview Branch Library, 550 El Embarcadero; a couple of blocks from the Grand Lake Theater].

Saudi Arabia - arguably the most repressive regime in the world, with the worst record on human rights - has been bombing Yemen, one of the poorest nations in the world, for almost two months now, with U.S. support in the form of weapons, training, and intelligence. The bombing is targeting residential neighborhoods, hospitals, and other infrastructure, creating a major humanitarian crisis. In many areas there is little or no electricity, water, or food, and people cannot even get gas to leave. They are virtual prisoners in their own homes. To make matters worse, the United States has recently imposed a blockade of the Yemeni port. Since Yemen imports about 90% of it's food, the blockade could effectively sentence the Yemeni people not killed by the bombing, to death by starvation. The mainstream media is barely reporting on Yemen while the suffering of tens of thousands of people gets worse and worse.
Show your support for the Yemeni people at LMNOP's weekly antiwar walk around Lake Merritt in Oakland, this coming Sunday. Bring signs if you have them.
