St Francis Fountain 24th and York St
The proposal is to demolish existing laundromat building on 24th and York
to build new 8 units of condos 5 story mixed use residential.
This would be the tallest building on 24th.
This proposal will destroy a neighborhood serving business and an iconic
and important mural on 24th.
This mural is a cultural asset in the Calle 24 Latino Cultural District
originally created in 1984 by Ray Patlan. It was called Y Tu, Y Yo, Y Que.
In 1995 it was restored by Carlos Gutierrez calling it Y Tu, Y Yo, Y
Cesar, after the death of Cesar Chavez. Funded by the City and County of
San Francisco.
This mural is part of the Precita Eyes mural tours that generate income
for the area and city.
Please join us to say no to the destruction of this mural and the
continued unchecked development that is displacing residents, businesses
and destroying the arts and culture and the community.
