Meet at the Ferry Building by the Embarcadero!
This Tuesday at 10am there will be a rally at the Ferry Building in San Francisco to rally against Starbucks' new #racetogether campaign and refocus attention on real anti-racist work being done locally.
You may have heard that Starbucks recently announced this new campaign, #racetogether, which encourages their working-class baristas to explain hundreds of years of racial oppression to bougey customers ordering their morning lattes. We're all about starting conversations about ending white-supremacy, but we want to talk about how Starbucks contributes to gentrification, exploitation, and capitalism.
Our morning rally will include an anti-racist workshop and messages from local leaders doing work to end racism in San Francisco. The goal is to use this to draw attention to real anti-racist struggles in our communities.
Our hashtag? #ragetogether
We're still looking for speakers, and for people interested in facilitating anti-racist trainings. Let me know if you want to speak or facilitate a workshop! We'd especially appreciate folks connecting Starbucks and corporate power with gentrification and poverty.
See you this Tuesday at 10am in front of the SF Ferry Building!
