Imperialism in the 21st Century: Updating Lenin’s Theory a Century Later

The Party for Socialism and Liberation has just published (March 2015) an important and exciting new book, “Imperialism in the 21st Century.” The book includes Lenin’s, Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism, which was published in 1916 in the middle of World War I, and four other chapters:

• Learning from Lenin’s Imperialism 100 years later
• From inter-imperialist war to global class war
• The unipolar era of imperialism and its potential undoing
• The social basis for opportunism and for defeating it

Among the issues we will discuss are the continuing relevance of Lenin’s famous pamphlet, the stages and changes that imperialism has passed through in the past 100 years, and how these changes impact on the struggles in the Middle East and elsewhere.

We will also have an update on the organizing for a national day of anti-war actions, including here in San Francisco on Saturday, March 21.

Copies of the new book will be available at the meeting. Join us to discuss these critical issues!

El imperialismo en el Siglo 21 Actualización de la Teoría de Lenin un Siglo Después

El Partido para Socialismo y Liberación acaba de publicar (marzo de 2015) un importante y emocionante libro, "El Imperialismo en el siglo 21.” El libro incluye, “El Imperialismo, La Fase Superior del Capitalismo,” escritó por Lenin publicado en 1916 en medio de Primera Guerra Mundial. También incluye otros cuatro capítulos:

• Aprendiendo sobre el imperialismo de Lenin 100 años después
• De la guerra inter-imperialista hasta la guerra global de clases
• La era unipolar del imperialismo y su potencial de deshacer
• La base social para el oportunismo y su derroto

Entre los temas que vamos a discutir se incluye la continua relevancia del famoso folleto de Lenin, las etapas y los cambios que el imperialismo ha pasado a través de los últimos 100 años, y cómo estos cambios impacta las luchas en el Medio Oriente y en otras partes.

También tendremos una actualización sobre la organización de un día nacional de acción contra la guerra, incluyendo aquí en San Francisco el sábado 21 de marzo.
