Raymond 'Mong' Palatino (Philippines) and Ko You Kyoung (Korea) will continue their US speaking tour on the west coast at 518 Valencia - Eric Quezada Center for Culture and Politics. We will also have a speaker from Okinawa to be confirmed very soon!

This internaional roundtable will be moderated by Rhonda Ramiro, Vice Chair of Bayan USA . The speakers will share the United States' touted Asia-Pacific Pivot, how US militarism and base expansion has affected their respective countries and regions, as well as discuss the peoples' movements on the ground to resist militarization.

Raymond Palatino is a two-term congressman who represented Kabataan (Youth) Partylist in the 14th and 15th Congress of the Philippines. He is currently the Southeast Asia editor of Global Voices and a columnist of The Diplomat online magazine. He is the chairman of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (New Patriotic Alliance) in Metro Manila. He is a graduate of the University of the Philippines.

Ko You Kyoung is a long time peace activist in South Korea as the Former Director of the National Campaign for Eradication of Crimes by U.S. Troops in Korea and member of the Korean Women’s Network against Militarism, SAFE-Korea. She is also a member of the PyeongTaek Peace Center.
