Cornel West Speaks at UC Santa Cruz Occupation
Dr. Cornel West spoke at the student occupation of the Humanities and Social Sciences building at the University of California Santa Cruz on November 20. Students occupied the building earlier in the day and plan to stay inside until the UC Regents roll back the tuition increases they approved this week. Student fees across the University of California system will raise by at least 5% a year for the next five years if the plan is instituted.

I find it humorous that the "Occupiers" are lambasting and deriding the Dean for making $200K a year in salary and suggesting that's bougie, but they have no problem lauding Cornel, who charges $25K to grace his audiences with a 30 minute appearance.
Maybe it's not so much the money but the fact that one agrees with you and the other may not?
(And for the "occupiers" who said nobody knows what that Dean does...check yourself and don't speak for others. Lots of us know. I certainly do. Among other things, he leads the Environmental Studies programs and the CASFAS/Farm program. And through his efforts, that Farm was gifted several million dollars over the past two years. He's earning his salary.)

Probably ZERO dollars...
