Location Details:
City Council Chambers at City Hall (809 Center St.)
Coffee and company at 6:45 p.m. outside City Council chambers to steel ourselves against the cold without and within.
The Public Works Commission Meeting is scheduled to start at 7 PM.
Coming up are two agenda items (##6 and 7) covering three issues
Establish Permit Parking Around the Circles Church at Woodrow and California. This is designed to restrict homeless access to the church by neighborhood bigots. [Staff report, letters, and proposal below]
A New Ordinance Banning Night-time Parking of RV's between 2 AM and 6 AM unless Permits (with restrictive requirements) are paid for. The measure is city-wide. Permits will only be issued for city residents and only for the block they're living on. Living in the RV is specifically criminalized.
Another ordinance allows the city to restripe parking places so as to exclude all large vehicles except those they authorize.
The agenda is at http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/6825/30?backlist=%2fdepartments%2fpublic-works .
I append the two proposed anti-RV ordinances as well as the staff report. More is available by checking the agenda above.

3 of the transportation and public works commission members are TBSC drones. The chair of the commission is newly elected SC City councilmember Richelle (let's get rid of recycling centers because homeless people might also use recycling centers) Noroyan. Also notable on the commission is Michael Becker--cofounder of TBSC and always pretty hostile to ....well...anyone who isn't well situated. Lastly is Brook Crumpton, Clean Teamer and anti needle advocate. http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/home/showdocument?id=31573
This is the crew who are convinced that hiding in RV's are not homeless people but rather mobile meth labs mobile drug dealers and other equally dangerous and unsavory types that should be run from town ASAP.
Know who you are talking to because no amount of logic is going to persuade them and no amount of appeal to compassion or humanity will sway them b/c they appear to have none as it relates to poor people.

It is difficult to imagine there is so much exploitable hate in Santa Cruz, that TBSC isn't powered by other sinister elements, but perhaps it is so.
