From the official notice: "Join us for an interactive and engaging community forum to discuss neighborhood issues and opportunities related to goods movement and freight in Alameda County and the Bay Area. This community forum is free and open to the public. This community roundtable will inform the development of the Alameda Countywide Goods Movement Plan and the update to the Regional Goods Movement Plan. Lunch and refreshments will be provided."
These should be the issues of concern:
1. Oakland Army Base / Port of Oakland - so-so emissions controls/particulates and rotten local hiring
2. Alameda County Measure B and the premature BB lock-in increase - some healthy condiments but basically a shit sandwich for the masses of poor people in the East Bay
3. regionalism/Plan Bay Area - top-down control with closed-door input from Big Business and it's supports in gov't
4. West Oakland Specific Area Plan - gentrification at the intersect of goods movement in the East Bay
Your elected and appointed governmental representatives support anything that will support big business and their extractive goals. Show up and demand the people's interests be heard and addressed.
