Interview with PATOIS film fest director Jessica Callan
Listen now:
The PATOIS film fest is back for 2015!
Join PATOIS: the New Orleans International Human Rights Film Festival for our very first screening since coming back from hiatus. We are thrilled to present to you a weekend of films by Lizzie Borden as the launch of our Community Film Series. We are gearing up for our March 2015 Festival, but we just couldn’t wait to start screening films again.
Both events FREE and open to the public.
Born in Flames (1983)
Friday November 14, 7pm, Gaudet Hall (1222 N. Dorgenois St.)
http://patoisfilmfest.org/sessions/patois-film-festival-presents-born-in-flames/
A documentary-style feminist science fiction film directed by Lizzie Borden that explores racism, classism, sexism and heterosexism in an alternative United States socialist democracy.
Join us after the film for a discussion with filmmaker Lizzie Borden, facilitated by Desiree Evans.
Plus, come early for a special presentation by Women with a Vision on their new oral history project!
Co-sponsored by
WWAV and Wildsseeds
Working Girls (1986)
Saturday November 15, 7:30pm, Zeitgeist (1618 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd)
