Oakland, like many cities across the nation, is at a critical juncture.
And there is a choice to be made.
We can continue down a path of systemic inequity, economic decline, failing schools and the resulting hopelessness that permeates our communities or we can re-imagine a future where every citizen has the opportunity to not just survive – but to thrive.
Please join our panel for a community conversation about how we can come together to build an Oakland that is a model city for the nation.
Discussion topics include:
· Public safety
· A living wage for all
· Public Education
· Economic development
Panelists:
Dennis Kucinich, former mayor of Cleveland and member of Congress
Tom Hayden, former state senator
Maria Poblet, Oakland Rising Action
And more ...
