Coming Oct 7 the League of Women Voters will present a neutral overview of the pros and cons of the propositions, both state and local, on this election’s ballot. The League of Women Voters is "an organization of women and men who want to make a difference in the political future of our country. They are a diverse, non-partisan, political group with a long-standing tradition of educating voters" (http://www.lwvoakland.org/index.html).
Be informed and have your say in the democratic process and civic responsibility! More information at http://www.lwvoakland.org/index.html.
The League's presentation will be followed by an informal, roundtable discussion on the local and state ballot measures where attendees can offer opinions and advocate. The discussion is facilitated by members of Skyline Community Church's Justice and Witness team.
The UCC has a strong, powerful and deep rooted stand for social justice, and we are passionate about educating our neighbors about the issues that affect all of us here in Oakland, Alameda County, the United States. http://www.ucc.org/justice/.
